Don Pike

Don dominated West Coast competition in his Falcon. In 1964 he entered 12 races, and had 11 first place wins. In 1965 18 races were entered, and 18 were won. In 1966 Carroll got a call from Ford, requesting the Falcon be retired out of the country, and replaced by a race Mustang. In his 1966 season, Don raced the Mustang in 20 races with 17 first place finishes. In 1968 Don joined the Porsche effort for Otto Zipper, in a 910 and 906. 16 races were entered and 14 won. In 1969 he raced a Porsche 911 for Kendon, in 16 races with 16 wins. In 1969 his Vasek Polak Porsche 904 had 17 out of 18 wins. During these years he also ran the 24 hours of Daytona, and the 12 hours of Sebring.

All the while Don worked for Carroll Shelby as the Engine Shop Manager, and was in charge of show cars. After the Shelby years, Don drove a BMW in the Trans Am Series, and a 3 liter Mirage in the Can Am Series.
